The first ever Annual AGOFR Inter Band Drinking contest has been won by the Guireans after a pathetic no show by the Dun Ringles. A spokesman for the Dun Ringles said 'It was all Robins fault for leaving the island early.'

The Guireans now go on to meet Zing Pop in the next round.

following the successful 1st annual AGOFR drinking contest in 2001, the 2002 2nd annual AGOFR drinking contest was held at the Crown Hotel on 4th Jan. 
 
hampered by the late withdrawl of Jimmy Petrie and the early exit of John Birrell Allan the Guireans relinquished their crown to the Dun Ringles in a hard fought contest, so close that the tie-breaker ' kebab shop ' round ( which only Jason managed to complete ) had to be utilised for the first time in the contests history.  
 
the Dun Ringles now progress to the European Cup where Avante Gallic champions ' Les Art Fartes ' await them in the 1st round.
