Ah, well, you see now, Dun Ringle was the original
name of the Clash. They named themselves (in a
bizarre Lynyrd Skynyrd coincidence) after one of
their school teachers. Yes, Mr Dan Ringquell, their
Home Economics teacher, who always used to get them
to cut their long hair (which unlike Lynyrd Skynyrd,
they did, hence inventing the 'punk hairstyle') and
in order to avoid a law suite they changed the coves
spelling slightly. Does that make any sense?
Does anyone else know of any bands named after a
teacher or indeed after anyone else for that matter?
I think we should be told.
