Sad news reaches Tape Records of the demise of top DJ John Peel. As fans of Zing Pop will know, John was one of the lucky 10 people to receive a copy of Zing Pop when it was released in 1981. He hadn't played a track of it on his show, up to the time of his death. As far as we know.

Hmm. So John Peel refuses to play Zing Pop and the next thing you know...

Could this be the work of Tape Records notoriously vindictive supremo CJ "Da Capo" Mitchell (72)?

The old mafiosi in the mountains of Scalpay have a saying: "Revenge is a dish best sampled cold (with sgadan sailte)". What better way to cool it off than to wait 23 years before activating your strategically placed Peruvian sleeper hitman cove?

The John Peel AGOFR Tribute EP "Margrave of The Mointeach" - thought to be not completely unrelated to the Dun Ringles - is now being advertised on the Guireans wepsite. Check it out.

There's also a highly informative - if not entirely true - Peel AGOFR Biography , for those not familiar with the legendary DJ's Leodhasach connections.
