I wass chust taking a trip down memory lane, checking out the blurb for the classic Hey Hey album and you know what?  I do believe someone has forgotten to credit Dopey Derek for his great performances on Some Sandy Talking and Stornoway Woman.  I remember it well.  A true professional, Derek was well aware of the likely sound quality of the recording and sang in such a way that even those of us who were there couldn't make out the words or the tune.  All you have to do, if you can be bothered, is to listen to these fantastic recordings to see how this intuitive approach led to an almost organic-sounding album.  Well, at least it approaches the consistency of something organic anyway.
