tenuous link #1

i woz strollin along amongst the woods at the Landmark Centre near Aviemore yesterday when i spotted a tree wot had bin hit by lightning, on closer inspection i noted that it had been hit on August 6th 1983, the day of the Midges of Rock '83 - the Big Man's aim woz a bit off that day and the Scout Hall remained standing.

this woz not forseen by the Bran Seer although he did predict an upswing in the consumption of high-fibre breakfast cereals in the 1990's.

Hmmm
It was an easy mistake for the Big Man to make, as Landmark Centre is near Carrbridge, innit? And Ken Deadollac drove to MOR83 in his 'car' and the YM 'bridge' is just down the road from the Scout Hall. So you can see how the confusion arose.
Mind you, it would have been pretty impressive as a special effect if a bolt of lightning had blasted thro the asbestos roof and illuminated assorted Guireans, Zing Poppers and Cyclefeet.

I don't beleive it. This useless machine in the old John Smith's bookshop in Glasgow (EasyEverything? O mo chreach...) has finally managed to display the Peatstack Lightning photo. Well, that was worth the wait.
