Brilliant book by Kevin Macleod, just finished it.  It even quotes The Rong's Union Jack Halas Cac.  Spelling?

Huy there Goth Cove.  Have you moved back to Glagow permanently then?

What's all this about Kevin Macneil (not Macleod) quoting from my song in his recent book?  If he quoted more than the title then I'm going to claim royalties for me, Malky Burns, Wee Bomber, Wee Kenzie, Malky Smith and Duncan from Point (Angus Nicolson had 'left' the band by then).  That song's been included on compilation albums and cited as among people's favourite ever songs on MySpace.  We never made a penny from it and if that cove is getting 12 months in Bavaria paid for by the taxpayer, then I think me and the other boys should get something for our efforts, particularly as 'Union Jack' has now gone down in Hebridean legend along with the concert in the Castle Grounds that made the front page of the Gazette for The Rong (name copyright me as well, but waived for those who were there, or thought they were there).

Anyway, myself, Deadstone and some other hangers on went to see Macneil's play 'The Callanish Stoned' (another dreadful pun) and personally I wasn't very impressed - a lot of caricatures spouting cliches in my opinion - although the others enjoyed it a little more.  It'll be interesting to see what the cove produces after he comes back from southern Germany, home of the Grimm Fairy Tales.  Knowing him, he'll pick a title that distorts some aspect of Lewis terminology, possibly the Grimshader Fairy Tales, unless the Guireans and their more talented offshoots have already claimed it.  Anyway, regards from old Roddy (not Morrison) and Zak the Dog to all my former collaborators (any chance of one of yous getting me a compost bin for my Edinburgh flat so that I can recycle anything else that Macneil recycles; that'll do if he's not going to give me any royalties - is that not what they serve in the HS-1 Cafe along with royalcoffees?).

Anyway a rithist, if any of you extremely talented individuals in this MSN Group have the great Hebridean novel inside you, please get it out ASAP before someone else claims it.

Tioraidh an drasda!
