Fans of proper music may wish to catch Memphis Louie an the Rockin Firebird of Death at the Woodland Centre on 16th August, supporting Crash My Model Car along with Your Distant Cousin. It's an "Acoustic" (oh, yus - MLATRFOD being acoustic - that'll be right) warmup for the proper "Sounds In The Grounds" do on September 1st.

Fans of proper music will also be pleased to know that The Guireans have been "accidentally" omitted from the Woodlands Centre acoustic gigs and from the main "Sounds in the Grounds" outdoor event on 1st September. Again.

However, there are rumours that volatile Guireans manager Coinneach "Peat Road Grant" Livingstone, outraged by the snub, is planning to set up a guerrilla alternative AGOFR stage on Sober Island, next to the main "Sounds in the Grounds" stage on Cuddy Point.

Music industry insiders allege that Livingstone (73) has arranged a "loan" of The Who's massive touring amplification set-up for the day and intends to power It from the Muirneag using a specially purchased Woolies 4-way adaptor with an extra-long cable.

On the Sober Island stage, a series of "new" AGOFR acts such as Your Ceardname Is Murdo, Our Leurbost Activities and the Hazey Steinish will perform parallel versions of the sets being played by the artistes on Cuddy Point, but very loudly and in an Avante-Gaelic stylee.

This will prevent Sounds In The Grounds-goers from enjoying their favourite bands and will thus avenge the insult to Sandwick’s top AGOFR stars.

Well fleek's sake. Innes himself now reports that the Sounds in the Grounds Bleigeards have gone and moved the gig away up to the College Car park now in an attempt to sidestep the Sober Island AGOFR Guerrilla Stage masterplan.

They've even produced fake posters to try and suggest that that's where it was always going to be and that they were never going to Cuddy Point this year at all at all. Fuidheags!

Co dhiu, Coinneach "Tom Paircer" is now rubbing his hands with glee in the hope that unsuspecting geeg goers crossing into the Grounds from town might see the AGOFR stage first, think it's the real Sounds in the Grounds and give him all their money.

In order to maximise the offshore leverage potential of the anticipated takings, Coinneach will be setting up a charitable AGOFR foundation, which will be called the "Western Isles Non Music Trust (Liberia, Inc)".
