Subterraneans fans may be perplexed by movie
studios' current fixation with the apparent
death of the band's singer, Wilbur 'Call be
Bill, now' Macleod.  My sources inform me
(usually inaccurately) that none other than
									Hollywood enfant terrible, Quentin Tarantino
is bringing out not one but two films about
									the Subterraneans' Tolsta frontman, 'Kill
Bill' and 'Kill Bill 2' (presumably the
									first attempt having been unsuccessful).

									Not to be outdone, a low-budget Anglo-Danish
feature, 'Wilbur Wants To Kill Himself' is
also about to be released on the Art House
circuit.  I gather the suicidal tendancies
are as a result of Wilbur having been
banished to the TV wastelands / obscurity of
directing BBC Scotland's 'River City' soap,
which should be more than adequate grounds
for topping himself.  It seems, however, the
Danes are unaware that he's changed his name
to Bill, now.  Watch this space for further
details and reviews of the movies on
release, unless they're not about Wilbur /
Bill at all, in which case you can forget
									you ever read this.

The more knowledgeable amongst you will
recall that Guireans' drummer, Jimmy Petrie,
famously arranged his own fake assassination
in 1980 (ish) in order to avoid having to
									make further embarrasing appearances with
that band.  Remarkably, though, a little
over a year later, he somehow featured in
their 'live' video and world tour of
									Sandwick.
