Yes I
know,
its
still
not what
you'd
call an
up to
the
minute
news
service,
but what
do you
expect!!
Here's a
recap of
the latest
news as
at
1.15pm
on Wed

Hot
Summer
Knights
(as in
chess
men)
Dun
Ringles
actually
play a
gig
featuring
all four
of
them!!!!!!!!!
Oh yus,
live in
Mavis'
kitchen
in old
Melbost,
the DR's
performed
to a
intimate
audience
of a
few wives,
mothers and
offspring.
Playing
such
classics
as Peter
Dan,
Ponderous,
Sheep,
and
'hits'
off the
new
album,
the band
nearly
managed
to
remember
all
necessary
chords,
words
and
dance
steps.

Midges
of Rock
venue
As more
and more
venues
in
Stornoway
refuse
to have
anything
to do
with
Midges
of Rock,
it has
become
harder
and
harder
for the
MOR
organisers
to find
a
suitable
place to
hold the
festival.
Robin
and
Wattie
recently
had to
climb
the
Clisham
to
search
out a
possible
open-air
site.

appear
soon).

31 May 2004
Well, not so
much latest
news, more a
recap of
stuff thats
happened in
May.
Biggest news
story is
Robin been
and gone
done
dislocating
and breaking
his elbow
whilst
playing
football. In
a game of
two halves
between
Thurso Mad
Scientists
vs Wick
Women of the
Night,
Robins
superlative
front of
goal tackle
on the ball
resulted in
an early
bath for the
parrot.
Plans for a
summer gig
in Sy are
still on,
although
Robin will
be in
plaster for
ages. Jason
will
probably
make him
play just
using his
left hand.
Also,
Swedish
Transvestite
confirmed as
first
booking for
2004 Midges
of Rock!!
Rumours that
Zing Pop
will also be
on the bill
still
unconfirmed.
Speculation
is rife that
Memphis
Louie and
The Rockin'
Firebird Of
Death have
been
approached
to appear on
the bill.

Four
Chessmen
'album of
the week' on
Isles FM!!!
In a shock
move, local
community
radio
station
Isles FM
today
announced
that The
Four
Chessmen
would be
this weeks
featured
album. A
spokesperson
for the
radio
station said
that this
was
unrelated to
the
mysterious
disappearance
of all the
stations
other CD's
after a
suspicious
break in at
the Newton
St nerve
centre.
