Etheridge
Lockjaw Jones
1st aka John
Murray aka
Seonaidh Plucan
was has
continued to be
a key player in
the Leodhasach
music scene,
founding and
running SY's top
music shop "Fonn"
for many years
before joining
the BBC as music
producer on
Radio Nan
Gaidheal's
nightly
programme for
rock n roll
maws, "Rapal".
He now does
everything at
RnanG's Inverness studios,
and has become
famous for
his traffic
reports on
Caiream Ciuil in
the afternoons.
Etheridge has
played with many
dodgy covers
bands over the
years and isn't
giving much away
about them, but
he's also worked
on a number of
more original
projects over
the years, such
as:
Swedish TV,
with Bob Bitchin'
and Rod "Prof"
Macrae in the
early/mid 80s.
Dodgily spelt
folkies
Philabeg
with Roddy "Actorrr"
Morrison and
some beardy
coves from away.
Released a
self-titled
album on Noel
Eadie's Croft

1987.
Gaelic country
stars
New Tradition
(also
featuring
Costello),
who had a fair
bit of success
in the 90s and have been out and about again recently.
Room 101
(later 101), who
although they
mostly played
covers,
developed some
original Gaelic
Rock numbers in
the late 80s,
and appeared on
BBC Gaelic's
"Brag" show.
The
Sandwick
Hillbillies
- John was
considering putting
a roots-y band
of this name
together in the
early 90s to do
country/blues
type stuff. Seem
to remember he
was looking for
a recording of
Lefty Frizell's
"Your Humbuggin'
Me" for a
hypothetical
set. Not sure if
it ever happened
but it may have
been the seed
of...
Crazy
Lemon
(see
More Spinoffs)
- who do "Hi
Heel Sneekers".
